Sunday’s baking- extra small batch tea biscuits! Crispy and buttery and sinful.
Combine 1 cup all purpose flour, hefty pinches of salt and sugar, 2 tbsp baking powder, and a dash of cream of tartar in a bowl. Cut in a 1/4 cup of chilled butter until the mixture is a rough, crumbly meal. Add 1/3 cup of milk and mix until the dough is sticky and pliant, and then knead it in a floured surface for about 5 minutes. Form into 3 discs (or 6 for smaller biscuits) and bake at 425 for 13-15 minutes, until the edges are a toasty brown.
